Namibia Countrywide coverage solution

Namibia’s second mobile network required a rapid rollout in 2007, which included 128 Greenfield sites comprising of rooftops, mobile and 60 metre tower sites. RNS, was contracted as the nominated site build contractor, designed, supplied and installed all radio sites across Namibia as per the agreed roll out schedule. RNS was also responsible for the design of specialised quick deployment screwpile sites as part of the supply.

These sites used new screw technology as a replacement for traditional foundations and reduced the build process from 30 to four days for a complete site inclusive of the tower and fence. The various types of sites also included installations of rooftop sites in Windhoek and environmentally friendly palm tree sites along the Namibian West coast towns. RNS procured, deployed and managed a fleet of 30 metre mobile towers which were used to provide temporary coverage to areas where the permanent installation was still in progress.
